ITINERARY

Day 1
Arrive Louisville
Arrival at Louisville hotel and be greeted by tour staff and a hotel “Welcome Reception.” The evening begins with a delicious buffet dinner before the curtain rises on a live performance at the Derby Dinner Playhouse.

Day 2
Churchill Downs / My Old Kentucky Home
Arrive at the “world’s most legendary racetrack” – Churchill Downs – where we will be welcomed by the Churchill Downs Bugler playing the official track “Call to The Post”, as we are treated to the “Dawn at the Downs” Breakfast Buffet in The Jockey Club Suites on Millionaires Row we’ll view world-class thoroughbreds during their early morning workouts. Experience a “behind the scenes” tour of the racetrack ending at the track interacting with the jockeys! Next explore the Kentucky Derby Museum capturing the tradition and pageantry of the Derby and view “The Greatest Race,” the Museum’s 360 degree high definition video. Later we visit Bardstown and My Old Kentucky Home State Park for a tour of the 1852 antebellum stately mansion, Federal Hill, that was the inspiration for Stephen Foster’s ballad, “My Old Kentucky Home” and enjoy a “Taste of Kentucky” luncheon in the park’s outdoor Rotunda as we are entertained by the Stephen Foster Singers! After lunch, it’s on to Heaven Hill Distilleries Bourbon Heritage Center on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail to discover the rich heritage and modern day methods complete with a “tasting.” We’ll have time to freshen up before we finish the evening with a “TowHead” Island Buffet Dinner and live entertainment aboard the Belle of Louisville Riverboat. Cheer your riverboat onto victory as you experience an honest-to-goodness riverboat race on the Ohio River!

Day 3
Museum Day
After full breakfast buffet at the hotel, the “Museum Day” is a walking tour (all three museums are within the same block) of Glassworks, Louisville Slugger Museum, the Frazier International History Museum. Later you’ll have lunch on own and time to test your luck at Caesars Casino. Next we visit Undulata, one of the finest American Saddlebred Horse farms in the country. It will prove to be a memorable experience as you watch these fine animals go through their workouts. Then it’s onto a “real country Cookin” dinner buffet and entertainment at Claudia Sanders Dinner House. The night ends with very special grand finale fireworks just for us overlooking the Ohio River!
